BEAUTIFUL | CONFIDENT | EMPOWERED

I’ve loved everything about the beauty world ever since I can remember. When I was little, I use to read my Bobbi Brown makeup book for hours, and once I was in high school, I was doing makeup for all of my friends for our dances. But becoming a freelance makeup artist was fate, and something that I didn’t necessarily plan on at first.

When I started college, I developed my love (ok...addiction) for watching makeup videos on YouTube. I practiced (and then practiced some more) on myself and everyone that would let me. I eventually moved into my sorority house and did the makeup for all of my roommates any time we had an event. It blows my mind today, but I still never contemplated doing it professionally.

I didn’t think about doing makeup as a career until my Junior year of college, when a classmate of mine from high school saw a makeup video I had posted on YouTube, and asked me to do makeup for her and her bridal party for her wedding. I had never done anyone’s makeup outside of my friends, who I did for fun, and I had definitely never done makeup for someone’s wedding. I put together a minimalistic kit, practiced on my friends to get my timing down and dove into the challenge.

That day, I found my passion, and thus, Faces By Kristen was born. I upgraded from watching YouTube videos to taking in-person classes, and learning from some of the top artists in the industry. I immersed myself in everything I could possibly learn about makeup: working with different skin types and tones, makeup for all ages, contouring for different face shapes and everything in between.

I’m constantly working to better myself in all of the basics, as well as the newest trends in the industry. Today Faces By Kristen has grown to heights I never imagined possible, going from a few weddings here and there, to multiple makeup gigs every week.

I am blessed to do what I do. I am able to combine my love for makeup with my love for business, and help people feel beautiful all in one. My thought is, everyone has beautiful traits about them that makes them feel their absolute best. Whether it be your eyes, your smile, or your complexion, my job is to help you find those features and accentuate them, to ensure that you feel as beautiful on the outside as you are on the inside.
