Calling All Glowing, Bronzed Babes

Glow is in. Everyone is trying to figure out how to get the perfectly highlighted face. Even oily girls are testing out the perfect concoctions to make their skin glow, without being greasy. I have now made the guide for glowing skin at your fingertips. After many trials and errors with different products, below I have listed my top products for that perfect healthy, full coverage, glow-from-within skin.

1 - Primer

The Laura Mercier Radiance primer will give you that perfect glow from within. If your skin is dry or normal, apply a sheer layer of this all over your face before foundation. This will give you moisture and a dewy base to start with. If you are oily, apply a mattifying primer to your t-zone and only apply the radiance primer to the high-points of your face: your cheekbones, right above the arch of your brow, and your cupid's bow. This will allow oily skinned girls to stay matte so that your oils don’t come through, and instead the glow products will do the work for you. Remember: glowy not greasy.

2 - Foundation

For dry skin, I recommend the Cover FX Natural Finish Foundation. This will make your skin look like a dewy dream. Apply with a damp beauty sponge for medium coverage, or a kabuki brush for full coverage. If you are oily, I recommend a matte foundation. I know, I know, it sounds counter-productive but hear me out. When you have oily skin and you are trying to achieve a pretty glow, you want to use matte products to control your oil and then go back in with liquids and powders to add glow where you want it. This will allow for the highpoints of your face to be highlighted, and for your t-zone to remain in your control. My favorite matte foundation is the Estee Lauder Double Wear.

3- Concealer

Go with a concealer that will give you the coverage you desire, without being too cakey or matte. I personally love the Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer. It gives you full coverage, but still looks flawless when blended out with a damp sponge. Be sure to go 1-2 shades lighter than you skin tone, and apply this concealer under your eyes and down the center of your face.

4 - Powder

Some people don’t set their face at all when trying to achieve dewy skin. I like to add a light layer of powder just to lock everything in, and prevent transfer. I love the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural powders. Use a big fluffy brush to dust this powder all over your face, and to set under your eyes.

5 - Bronzer

In order to achieve the glowy skin, bronzed babe look, it’s important to pick out a bronzer that has a sheen to it but that isn’t glittery. I’m bringing it back to the OG bronzer, a cult favorite, Nars Laguna. This is perfect for that bronzed, sun-kissed look. Not too warm, and not too cool, there is a reason this bronzer has been so popular for so long. Use a fluffy bronzer brush to apply this to your cheeks, around your forehead and down the sides of your nose.

6 - Blush

Similar to bronzer, it’s important to pick out a blush that has a sheen to it, but that is not glittery. I always reach for MAC Mineralize Blush in the shade Warm Soul. It’s not too pigmented, so it won’t take away from your glow, it will just add a highlighted, sheer coverage to your cheeks.

7 - Highlighter

Time for the fun part! I have two highlighters that I recommend. One is more of a natural highlight and is great for people who want to be more subtle, or people who have a lot of texture in their skin. The other is a bangin’, in your face, glow to the gods, highlight-on-fleek kind of highlight. Feel free to use whichever one meets your needs, or you can be a little extra like me and use both :-) For a more natural highlight, I love the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in the shade Luminous Light. Apply this to the high-points of your face, or go the extra mile and apply a sheer layer of this all over for a glow-from-within look. For a glow that can be seen from outer space, I am obsessed with the Jeffree Star Skin Frosts. Pick whichever shade suits your skin tone best, and apply it to the high points of your face, your inner corner and your brow bone. You can really amp it up by wetting your brush with Mac Fix+.

8 - Setting Spray

For an extra dewy look, top everything off with the Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist. I would not suggest this if you don’t want to look deeewwwy. This will give any dry skin an extra boost of luminosity.

Now you have all of the steps and my favorite products for the perfect dewy skin, glow-from-within makeup look; and you’ll be a glowing, bronzed babe in no time.
